Spotlight on Tatiana

Tatiana Ukvatkina, Designer + Assistant Project Manager at SweisKloss, has been with us for just over a year now, and we have really enjoyed having her on our team. She brings a positive energy that fits in perfectly with our group, and her design approach is thoughtful and concise. When we caught up with her to see how it has been working on SK projects, she said, “The design process with the SweisKloss team is always a pleasant experience. I admire that there is an open opportunity for initiatives. I do not think I’ve ever met a team like that before—a team of real people who are able to stay true to themselves!”

Tatiana has a BA and MA in Economics from Nizhniy Nov. State University, Russia, and a Master of Interior Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona/UCLA Extension. She has her CCID and NCIDQ certifications and is on her way to having her real estate development certificate. Tatiana finds the combination of a business/economics degree and a master’s in architecture gives her a great balance of both the business (budgets and time management) and design sides of this profession.

She says, “Design is a lifestyle, a constant evolution and exploration. I enjoy creating places that nurture, inspire, and give comfort.” Her experience in luxury hospitality design makes her mindful of people’s feelings, memories, and experiences. At SweisKloss, she has been developing new approaches and skill set with the design + construction process. “Architectural design has endless possibilities! It inspires me to push the boundaries, explore and learn every day.”

Outside of SweisKloss, Tatiana enjoys time with her husband and children. She considers herself lucky to live in California with all its natural beauty. And at any given opportunity, she explores the outdoors and likes to camp and hike.
