Spotlight on Superintendent Paul Nicholson

At SweisKloss, the role of a Site Superintendent is invaluable and serves as the construct counterpart to our design team. Superintendents are the daily eyes, ears and voice at job sites and facilitate the building phase of our projects. They appreciate the subtle nuances in architectural design and thoughtfully planned spaces but can envision a home as a whole.

We have extremely high standards when we hire for this position. Many years of experience in high-end design and unsurpassed field knowledge are required. Reading blueprints with a detailed eye and super-sized multitasking is a must. But we also want someone with people skills and will enjoy being a part of a tight-knit team.

So imagine how happy we were to hire Paul Nicholson, a friendly, self-professed perfectionist with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Paul has always loved California homes and anything/everything to do with construction, design, and craftsmanship. He says that what he likes best is making the owner and architect’s vision come to life and seeing the end result.

After acquiring his state licenses as a general building contractor and in cabinetry and millwork (C6 license), he started off his career by running his own general construction and finish carpentry company where he took on commercial and residential projects. He gravitated toward working on high-end custom homes and eventually moved on to become a Superintendent and Supervisor of the finish carpentry division at Marmol Radziner before joining SweisKloss.

When he isn’t busy being a hands-on Superintendent with us, he likes being outdoors and spends his time surfing, jet skiing, and desert off-roading.
