Spotlight on Ernie, SweisKloss Foreman + Electrician

When it comes to hiring, we are always on the lookout for good people. We welcome someone who is not only creative, talented, skilled, etc. but those who have a sense of humor and a positive outlook, both of which go a long way in work and life. So, when Ernie Samudio came along, we couldn’t have been more thrilled to bring him on board as our foreman and in-house electrician. His infectious laughter and energetic spirit are appreciated by all.

Surrounded by a close-knit family, including six sisters and three brothers, Ernie was born and raised in Santa Clarita, CA. He grew up loving baseball and excelled at it, playing up through high school until an injury set him back. He then decided to go into construction because he always had an interest in the engineering of buildings. After working in all areas of commercial, industrial, and residential construction, Ernie wanted to have a more specialized trade and acquired his electrical contractor license and certificate as an Electrical Craftsperson from the Department of Water and Power.

With over 20 years of experience as a journey-level electrician, Ernie joined SweisKloss in 2020 and is coming up on his one-year anniversary. When asked about his time with us, he said, “I’ve always liked being an electrician, but I am jazzed about being a foreman. I get to be completely involved with an entire project from the ground up to the roof. Seeing the amount of work that goes into the design makes me want to do my best to deliver the best.” He paused then said, “Being at SweisKloss has made me better myself professionally, which feels awesome. Seriously, I want to end my career here.”

In his spare time, he loves being outdoors, playing golf and disc golf, and spending time with his family. He belongs to the Santa Clarita Valley Cornhole league (Ernie proudly states that it’s the largest cornhole league on the west coast) and plays every week alongside his lifelong best friends and little brother. He is hoping someday to make the 31 ft. cornhole money shot. Between his positivity and determination, we are thinking his odds are pretty good.

A big thank you to Ernie for being a part of the SweisKloss family!
