5 Photo Boards of Sustainable Lights That Caught Our Eye

Have you ever thought about how much lighting can either enhance or detract from the design of a space? This is an essential element to be considered, which is why we devote time to a lighting plan when designing a project. The perfect illumination creates highlights and depth to everything it touches, and successful architecture captures the interplay between light and shadow. While there are literally thousands of light fixtures to choose from, we gravitate to choosing pieces from companies that make a sustainable impact in some way.

We put together these boards of a variety of sustainable lighting that recently caught our eye. They all fall under one or more of the following categories: vintage, upcycled; created from recycled glass and other recyclable materials; made from natural stone or FSC and ethically sourced hardwoods; nontoxic materials; locally sourced and handcrafted by artisans. We had so much fun putting these images together that we gave you a bonus 6th board.
